Nigerian Online Dating Scams

The Nigerian Scammers are everywhere, they are in chat rooms, on MySpace, almost every dating website online, Facebook, tagged.com, you name it. The way these con artists operate is under the guise of wanting a mature long term relationship, that they are just "looking for love". In truth though, all they are looking for your MONEY.

The Nigerian relationship scammers are a big business, which is very lucrative, and is run just like a business. There is an office filled with people, who come to work to scam you out of your money. They operate with scripts, fake documents to use as "proof" and use each other to answer the phone or call you when need be.
They start off with some sob story about either being a widower, or their wife left them for another man. They usually say they have at least one child. They say all the right things, but you should be realistic and see that they are saying them ALL TOO SOON.

This is a business, they don't want to waste MONTHS getting a payout from you, the longest is usually 4-5 weeks and then they start asking for money. They claim to be businessmen traveling to Nigeria for work related issues, or simply say they work in Nigeria. (Some are getting smarter now and not even telling you it is Nigeria). They seem well educated, funny, caring, and pay you so much attention!

Once they profess their love and you return it, they know they have you hooked and the money scam falls into place. At this point they may either talk about needing money for plane tickets to come and see you (of course they will pay you back, they have the money, and often will offer proof that they do have it) and one of the many excuses is because they can't cash their check in Nigeria;the check is late; or it is coming any minute. Of course, when you go to the airport to pick them up, they never show, and while you are crying and upset, they either call and tell you they had missed the plane, there was a problem with their paperwork and weren't allowed to leave the country, or a sudden illness/accident occurred!

Now they need MORE money, and the scam continues until you stop paying. You would think after getting some money from you they would be on to the next, which is wrong. Their motto is "bleed them dry til they have nothing left". I cannot tell you how many people have become victims to this scam, and have been left with not just a broken heart, but in financial ruin as well.

  5. a girlfriend of mine brought this page to my attention and imagine my shock when I read the first comment above about Jason Mcdonald, I have been scammed by him, I fell for him and sadly have lost quite a lot of money, the funny thing is that he sent me photos of himself and his daughter Emily and gave me a legit address in Vancouver but I still thought he was for real, but he kept trying, telling me of his undying love and even gave me entrance to his bank account to prove that he was worth what he said he was, imagine my shock when I accessed this account and saw that he was telling me the truth, but who knows, if this is real. I could go on for pages about him, but I have the same phone number for him as posted above on September 22, 2009 comment and was also contacted by Jason on September 22 on Match a dating website here in Vancouver. OMG I can't believe I fell for him, he really did sound too good to be true, I have learned my lesson and now I must swallow my loss and try not to let the hurt I feel ruin my life! The very saddest part of this is that I spoke to Emily his supposed 8 year old daughter on the phone and she calls me mum, her dad is supposedly a widower of 4 years and I wonder if this child knows what line of business her dad is in, he says he buys and sells textiles and was born in Ontario, Canada, but grew up in Rome, he did speak and write in Italian to me, his accent isn't Nigerian, I believe he is white but I can't imagine how he would get wrapped up in this sort of a lifestyle. Can anyone shed any light on these guys, how and why do they do what they do?

  6. Can you fake a british accent? I can. And these Nigerians can fake accents too. The bank info you got was fake. The daughter was most likely a friend of the scammer that was female trying to sound like a child. Why do they do what they do? MONEY. They are criminals and thieves and this is how they steal. Sweetheart scams are as old as time, it is just that the internet has made it MUCH easier and more successful. Scammers are NOT just from Nigeria either. They can live right next door to you.

  7. Anyone had dealings with a Brian Freeman who said he was in the antique business and in West Africa on his business who said his wife died from cancer 13 years ago and daughter died in a car accident? Said he was born Austrian has a thick accent and number called from was W. Africa. Yahoo e-mail is egbafunfun. I almost got scammed after much wooing and romantic attachment to me. Then said his goods were confiscated and he couldn't ship them, went to the consolute but need $700 to help him, and how he was frustrated and hopeless......blocked him immediately! Anyone had a similar experience with this scammer?

My name is Bryant and I am a very down to earth god fearing Christian man. I am a business man and I major in contracting works with various firms. I am a widower due to the tragic loss of my wife some years ago. I am a very disciplined man and I tend to make the best out of every opportunity I get in life. I don't believing in taking special things for granted and some time even things not so special. I am very lovable and can make anyone near me laugh their hearts out. I try to make people around me happy and I try as much as I could to reach out my kindness to the world through some charity works. I am a very diligent man and can be trusted. I am very prepared and seriously seeking to connect with that special lady with whom I could spend the rest of my life with. I am very honest in my ways and faithful all times. My mind is ready and I have no extra baggage from my past relationships. I believe in possibilities and not limitations meaning I am willing to give this a try regardless of distance or any kind of obstacle that might want to hinder this search. I believe strongly in the power of love and trust in its connection. I tend to judge people by their words and not by their appearance because its said that out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

I sincerely hope to connect with a woman who is psychologically prepared to be loved again. She must be sure of what she wants in a relationship and must be able to define the kind of man she would be willing to spend the rest of her life with. She must have confidence in love and be sure of what she feels emotionally. She must be hard working and reasonably successful. She must be independent and yet willing to respect her man anytime. She must possess the following traits such as loving, kind, faithful, patient, understanding and truthful. She must not be a drinker and if at all she drinks it must be socially and definitely not a smoker because that automatically pisses me off. If you feel in anyway that you fit this description, please do not hesitate to write me

  10. Bryant Harris part 3..

I don’t really believe in chemistry in a relationship sometimes because we human beings can never be completely predicted in most of our actions or reactions. If someone happens to be your right partner, I believe the connection should already be felt immediately after the first communication, maybe through an email, phone call or at first sight because true love is a spiritual being that possesses people with the right connection. I have received quite a number of emails from certain ladies on that dating website, but funny enough I didn’t feel the seriousness in some and didn’t see the need to write back. It’s very simple, it’s because I didn’t feel any form of connection. But in your case, it’s a whole different feeling and I hope I am not wrong. I don’t want to sound too forward here, so for now, I would hold back most of my expressions until I get to know more about you.

Talking about things I like to do for fun when I am not busy, I like to play sports like swimming, lawn tennis, basketball. I like taking a walk to the mall not necessarily to shop but just to feed my eyes on some latest trends because I am a trendy person. I like to travel a lot be it for business or pleasure. I like visiting different places and learning new cultures and diversities. I like to visit the theaters, museums e.t.c

I really look forward to knowing more about you, what makes you happy? What makes you sad? What makes your day? I really want to know everything about you and I hope you also want the same thing too. Looking at most things you mentioned in your previous message, I realized that you’re a woman that likes to be happy and have fun, that’s a good spirit.

Well, I have to stop here for now and attend to some stuff. However, I will get back online as soon as I can to check my email for another message from you. Until I read from you you have a lovely day filled with joy and laughter.

    Sincerely
    Bryant

  11. I just received the exact same letter from Bryant Harris (christianmingle.com) from his email address bryantharris1@hotmail.com.

LETTER: Thanks for your response, ..I really appreciate you writing me back at my personal address. At least our conversation would be much more confidential this way...Like I earlier mentioned in my previous email I am new to this system of internet dating ...sometimes that special person in our lives might not reside in the same area or geographical location as we do, but its left to us to be able to find and connect with that person and the distance between will be dismissed. ... I know we both are on that website for the same reason and that is to hopefully connect with that special person with whom we find interesting and feel a sort of connection with in terms of wanting to learn more about. I want to assure you upfront that I am very interested in learning more about you, your personality and back ground. I am sure you would want to learn same about me and I think it’s only proper that I begin first by telling you all about myself. I was born in Columbus OH but spent most of my tender age in Madrid Spain where I grew up. My mom is an American, while my father Spanish, so that makes me a mixed. I am a businessman and I also participate wholly in humanitarian services as much as I could. I am a widower presently; ...lost my wife to a serious heart related illness some eight years ago. I lost all my loved ones ranging from my parents to my wife under a period of 2 years and life was as worse as hell for me, but by the grace of god I managed to sail through. I am a sub-contractor ...I execute contracts for firms. I have being single again for 8 years now and have never fallen in love again since then. I am a very careful man and I mostly learn from other people’s mistakes. ...But after all these years, I got to realize that no man is an island, everybody needs someone to love and to love them back. I also realized that true love does not come easy and is not easy to find, it can only be found when you pray and put your all into it....
I recently relocated to Houston Texas from London England and I have barely lived in Houston for 6 months, ... It’s just that ever since I lost my family and wife, I have being so lonely and my work has being my only source of comfort, so I decided to always keep myself busy in other to keep my mind occupied and away from thinking about my past.

I don’t really believe in chemistry in a relationship sometimes because we human beings can never be completely predicted in most of our actions or reactions. 28. Tell me more Anonymous. I have talked to Tito Ricardo Fernanado for approx 6 months. Yes all this time. What a sucker i was and ive lost thousands of pounds to him and his daughter Doreen. I was naive and fell for him big time. These are clever, heartless people obviously with no conscience whatsoever. All i can say is, i have, thank god. Oh yes God plays a big part in this scam along with dead parents and ill children, hospital bills, no food, the list goes on and on. I did ask him when i finally found out if he was reading off the list they follow?? I did not cry over this scumbag but he has made me extremely angry. All that i can thank this man for is the fact that my Ex husband helped me through the trouble i got in because of Tito but now we are back together and for that i am very thankfull. It makes you realise who your loved ones really are. Your loss Tito or should i say TIT.

4 men I’ve met on Love and Seek
3 of the 4 men had said or say they are in love with me and what to spend the rest of their lives with me. 3 of the 4 first names are “Chris”
2 of the 4 are widowed-their wife died in child birth. These two are raising or want to raise their child. All 4 men reside in the United States but due to business went to West Africa.
All 4 men are successful in their career, and are wealthy but for whatever reason cannot spend their money in Africa. 2 men ran out of money due to their business and are waiting on someone to send them some money but until then wants me to send them money or has no one in their life to help them, parents dead, friends with financial problems, etc. The other 2 can’t cash a US check or they don’t take US travelers checks in Africa and need me to send them money for a plane ticket back to the states...to be with me of course. None of the men have made an attempt to show me they are “for real”…other than one has sent me some documents: passport, building contract, and a dozen of roses....needless to say I'm not on any dating sites any longer!

He is claiming to be 42 single, with a child. sandrockchris13@yahoo.com His notes sounded a lot like those from a Cres Durante , claiming to a wealthy oilman in Milan, Italy. Also age 42, single, parents died, girlfriend slept with his best friend. Proposed marriage after a few days. Wants to move to US, buy me a home and a jet for his business. Then asked me to western union $1200 for his visa to come visit. You don't need a visa for a visit to US under 90 days. I have stopped communications. Both contacted me from MySpace. I have since deleted MySpace account.

I went on another dating site, Blackplanet, and since the incident with Kevin Martin, have been smart about what to look for. I can not tell you how many of these scam artists have hit me up for request to chat with them on yahoo. So anyone that ask me to chat with them outside of the dating site does not get my attention. The majority of these creeps are scam artist. I'm enjoying the roses though. Maybe I will get luck for real (all smiles).

  40. My story involves Brain Owens, personal e-mail brineowens@yahoo.com
met him on LoveandSeek(usgraymatter) he is no longer there. He Really took me for a ride. His daughter and wife were killed in a car accident two years ago, his son was in the same accident but not hurt. son Cyril is 9 , Brian is 49 except Brian is really Cyril Glikou in Ghana West Africa. AND IS ACTUALLY 22.
He completely sucked me in to the tune of $1400. He was "working" in Dothan Alabama on a contract but his home is in Beverly Hills CA. He had to go to Africa on a buying trip for his gemstone business. then his son left his laptops and phone in the airport in the UK. and this among other things caused him to run out of money to get back home to come meet me.
I was completely in love with him and we were engaged until he finally confessed that he was only 22 and lived in Africa. BEWARE he is VERY GOOD at what he does.

  41. sorry that last post was supposed to say Brian (not brain) Have also "met" Cristiano Anderson
    on loveandseek Member name: singleman112
    e-mail address: cris_anderson146@yahoo.com
Actually that is how I found this site I googled him. Only he told me that his wife died of Cancer. and his mother is caring for is son, he and his late wife ran an orphanage in Africa, he has not gotten to the asking for money part yet, but when I told him I had recently been the victim of a scammer so I was being cautious he said he didn't want to talk about such things. When I innocently asked him why, he said that all the ladies he has "met" think he is a con man because he is so good looking.

  42. So has anyone heard of Robin Turner (AKA Alex Paul) depending on what site you try? Or how David Carville or Michael (Mike) Pelletier? I am currently in contact with them and am very confident that they are scammers, but would love to hear about other's experiences with them. For now I am leading them on, waiting for their plea for money. Why not scam the scammers? Perhaps I should ask THEM for money! LOL

  43. Beware of Wayne Douglas - claims to be civil engineer - US citizen but UK born, working in Nigeria on an oil rig. Wife died during child birth, daughter's name Vena. Claims to be 6"2 but pics of him and daughter - she is nearly at tall as he and she is to be 9 years old. He of course he is very attractive and daughter does look like him. He gets very upset when asking questions about his job, location, duties, etc. He needs money to pick up final supplies at port to complete a job, get his paperwork signed off and come back to the states. His number is +234 8026 514 294 and I was able to get an address of 49 Medical Road Ikeja Lagos States Nigeria 23401 - he was hoping I would send him money - Western Union.

  44. Ok here is one more to "be on the lookout" for. I met a man on Loveandseek (my word there are so very many on there) I believe his user name is
SEEE4LUV or something very much like that but his yahoo e-mail and messenger is llarrylockard1
He claims to be Larry Lockard from Indiana, PA. But he is "working" in Nigeria, for a brief time. Claims to have been widowed for 5 years and has two daughters in Medical school in the UK as well as a 14 year old son who is with him in Nigeria.
I just spoke with the REAL Larry Lockard in Indiana PA (I googled him) and he assured me that he is not in Nigeria. He also is not widowed, his wife's name is Mary. I think I will keep stringing him along for awhile tho. As long as he thinks he is scamming me, hopefully he is leaving someone else alone.

  45. Ladies please beware of Cres Durante Im so glad that I found out from this web site about him. before I sent him any money. He found me on myspace also saying that he was sent to me from God to be my husband and not to doubt him. I believed him. He was saying that he was from Italy, fixes oil drilling machines. He would e-mail me love poems everyday but than I started getting the same ones I thought something was up. So I goggle his name Cres Durante and found out that he was a scammer. So I have ended all contact with him. Ladies please know that these men must be stop. I will let my God do it with his power and my believe in God they will be shut down.

  47. Ok, here is the latest on Christiano Anderson, (Lagos, Nigeria) he did finally ask me for money and got upset when I told him I had none. When he first asked it was for money to pay the taxes on his late wife's land so he could sell the land to a British Oil company. Then he stopped chatting, but I wanted to "play" some more so I waited several days and then contacted him and told him that a friend of mine had a bit of money they were looking to invest so he said that this time he needed it for paying for the permit for the oil tanker that he owns to bring a load of crude oil to the US. where he could sell the oil and the tanker. So I pretended to send him the money and gave him a phony name and address. I wonder how the scammers like being scammed. LOL

  52. To the May 21 posting re: Cres Durante. I made the original entry in this site with his name. Curious, what was his reason for you sending money? I think it is good for us to understand their games.
Also noticed that his grammar and punctuation changed dramatically from e-mails to his poems. I would have been touched that he found poems to send me, but the give away was that he claimed he wrote all of them. Sometimes at a speed faster than which he could type (obvious he was coping them from another source and pasting into a note).

    ReplyDelete
  53. Cres Durante wanted me to send him money and return he would send me $15,000 I told him why he wanted me to send him money he said for shipping and handling for oil drilling supplies. I told him that I don't want his money use the $15,000 for his shipping and handling. It just didn't make sense to me to send him money if he claims to have so much.He told me that he controls me and to do everything he told me to do.Which I did not do what he wanted me to do. When I was talking to him on yahoo I notice that the color of his typing change from rainbow one day then to black another day. Which I think I must have been talking to different men.He also called me area code (234) Nigeria not Italy that he claims to be living.Your right about those poems he wrote them fast. when he would talk to me on yahoo he did not use any of thoses words that he wrote in his poems.Which I thought was odd.

  57. Ladies,

Beware of "Marcus Wale" on match.com. Nobleman1965@yahoo.com. Yet another widower working in Nigeria posing as a civil engineer. A smooth talker just like all the rest you are reading about. Describes himself as an accomplished businessman with "wealth", who hopes to find his "best friend". Before long he proposes marriage but then has some tragic accident occur involving one of the Nigerian men working on an rig and then is asking for money to help pay funeral costs. He'll try to call you but the phone connections are very poor and the accents thick ! What a scam. Luckily, he did not get a cent from me. Once he realized someone was onto his "game" he dropped out of site fast.....only to move on to the next unsuspecting woman. Be careful.

  59. Hey Ladies, yes If you are wondering for sure the two men that I had contact with..Morgan Fred from Love and Seek, also Robin Turner from Love and Seek as well. I knew that something was up when they started professing love for me 2 days after we first started talking, also Robin Turner said he had a daughter who had a birthday coming up, wanted to know if I wanted to send her some money as a gift, and how much would I send. I googled both men's names and found them to be scammers. I was lucky, if it does not feel right it isn't. Be very carefull.

  62. Just wanted to say thanks for this site to bring the attention about these jerks out in the open. I too have been scammed by a man named Harry Brandon who said he lived in London, England and worked on Oil rigs. His last contract was working in Kuwait and said he was retiring after this last contract and wanted me to come over to London to live with him. He wanted to use his retirement money and his life's savings to start an oil supply company in which he made sure to send me the contract agreements in which it showed the purchase to be $3,680,000.00 and also made me his next of kin...Ha Ha! He even had me emailing his mother...? Sure! hIS PROBLEM WAS THAT TO SHIP THE CRUDE OIL COST MORE THAN WHAT HE HAD left AND ENDED up not having the rest to finish the deal and also not enough to get home. So he wanted me to find investors and also send him enough for his hotel and airfare home. He was crying about not having food to eat and of course how much he loved me and all the same stories. Please beware of Harry Brandon... I never sent him anything thanks to these stories. Hope to help some other poor girl.

  66. I met a Robert Peppey (aka Robert Steven) on Christian Mingle. Christian Mingle informed me that he had been removed twice due to complaints, but they couldn't tell me what the complaints were. This man told me that his wonderful wife had died years ago and that his only child went to live with his mother-in-law who was a Catholic missionary in Malaysia. He had professed undying love to me within about 5 days of being in communication with him - he even sent a large basket of food to my home (because I was stupid enough to give im my address.) After he had my attention, he asked me if I could wire (Western Union) $7,000.00 to Malaysia for his mother-in-law and daughter to go to Germany. He, at the time, claimed he was in Scotland working on oil pipes. Claimed he was a spillage engineer, owner of his company. He got his supposed daughter to email me - - calling me Aunt. She referred to herself as both Stacy Steven and then sometimes slipped and would sign emails, "Your little girl, Nellie". When I called the guy out on his scam, he continued to write, telling me it didn't matter about the money. He even sent me a 'copy' of a Travelocity receipt, showing that he had already paid for a trip to the Dallas area on August 9th. I'm sure it was a forgery. If it isn't, that's a little frightening. He wrote to me for days without me responding and I haven't heard from him since July 2. I'm praying he's out of my life. Do you contact the local authorities on things like this? I mean, the guy has my physical address :(

    ReplyDelete
  67. HARRY BRANDOM tried every scam on me that he could think of, but I continued to play along each time just to see how far he would go. All along I knew he was not the "real thing", but his words did start to work on me and made me want to try and change his heart. That was so foolish of me to think that if I loved someone enough that I could possibly change their evil heart...
When I continued to come up with a reason why I could not give him the money, he would just invent another way to scam me. In my mind I thought I was at least keeping this guy busy and protecting someone else that might not be as smart. I just ended very heart broken in the end. Can you believe that I felt love for someone like this..?

  68. Beware of a RICARDO ANDERSON. Claims to be from Fairfield, CA doing electronics business in UK. Another scam artist. Am playing with this one right now. Has poor grammer but a romantic, smooth talker, plays on the emotions. Even sends flowers, can you believe that. If nothing more the flowers were pretty. Took about three and a half weeks before asking for money. That came after he realized I might not want to play his came anymore. He continues with all the romantic stuff and playing on my emotions. What he's not realized yet is that now I'm playing with him. Calls periodically. Money request is because his electronics are being held up in Asia and he can't leave UK until they arrive. LADIES, DON'T SEND MONEY no matter what, if they promise you the moon, NO MONEY. You must realize this is a scam that is being perpetrated on you.

  72. OK thanks in advance, she's asking for donation now.. about a kid who is in need of a kidney transplant. She gave her pictures to me, and called me up. I dunno if she is real or not...

    ReplyDelete
  73. How can you think she IS real? Have you read this site? There is no orphanage being built, there is no sick kid, these are the lies they tell you so you will send money. This is the oldest trick in the book, and we put on here about how many of them say they work as missionaries, build orphanages, and ask for money for health issues for themselves or for kids. There is no WAY this person is real. They are a nigerian scammer, period.

    ReplyDelete
  74. FIrst found on this dating site, named Liz carter, Prophesing real love. sent pictures of her, But one that made me suspicious is that they she writes her grammar. Now after few weeks of having conversation. called me up once on the phone using area code +234. Said she's working for the WHO and has an orphanage over there. Now lastly heard from her, she needs donation for the 2 kids who will be needing for a transplant.

  75. AT first came to know her on a dating site, Gave her name and pictures, Said that she is an australian born, and moved here to this place. and told e lately she's in africa attending this convention. Thanks for the advice.

  81. One to watch out for William Alan Treece or aka William Theer. erewills@yahoo.com Profile on passion.com says he is from Abilene, Texas, but there were a lot of inconsistencies both in the profile itself and what he was telling me trough IM. I was distrustful. He sent me roses, sent me a social security number and then told me he was in West Africa on business. He called me on the phone and his accent gave away that he was not born and raised in the US as he initially told me. He then confessed he "lost" his parents at age 7 and was raised in the UK. On top of this, he is widowed due to losing his wife and two children in a car accident 4 years ago. I did much research on the SSN and name he gave me and nothing added up. Once he asked me about a credit card and what my limit was I told him to never talk to me again. I have about 6 photos of him OR the person he was posing as. It is a shame that the person in the photos probably does not even know someone is impersonating him.

  85. Here is another one from Christian Mingle called HeavenHugBrian also known as Brian Alex.... He told me the same stories.... lost his wife to cancer, daughter is with grandmother doing missionary work in Africa. Brian is an engineer in Scotland doing oil rig work. We IM'd and he sent me poems, when I asked him if he wrote the poems he said yes. I googled them and found them all over the internet. I decided to ask very specific questions like, what is the name of the company you work for, when is you birthday... he also had me emailing his daughter who by the way was calling me "mom" The final straw for me was when the supposed daughter told me her b-day was next week and she wanted me to send her and I-phone 4. Of course I quit correspondence with her and after asking Brian those specific questions he stopped all correspondence.... I am a widow and it seems these men think they can get money from unsuspecting widows.... Boy did this man get it wrong with me.... Ladies please be careful and ask all kinds of questions and do your homework.... it's sad that we have to go through the scum to find someone honest. Thank you for this blog to warn others!

Great profile you've got wondering what you would be doing on a dating site...for me i want to see if it works for me...because i have been in so many relationship but it didn't work out for me ...I am new into Internet Dating and i liked your profile so i decided to contact you.You seem like a nice and interesting woman and that was the main reason why i dropped by to introduce my self and drop you this line. I wish to try out distant relationship for a while because the other way round never worked for me...do you believe in falling in love with someone you havent seen before?..it worked out well for a very close friend of mine who is married from that experience i wish it works for me ...

i wish to find someone special ..if you are interested in giving us a chance to get to know more about ourselves not just the physical but what our hearts has to offer...my friend told me something here it is...Long distance relationships require a special willingness and understanding that can test love like no other type of relationship can. It requires constant communication and a desire to continually create your relationship ...and if i and my partner scales through then thats love. I'm a believer in the amazing and magical power of music. I love the way that sounds change to make a melody, and the way that emotions are elicited through chord changes and rhythmic expression.

I love how the World forms the path in front of me and shows me the best way forward through cleverly placed synchronicity. Every time I recognize a meaningful coincidence that points the way, it makes me laugh,I laugh a lot.I like to meet people who appreciate the incredible beauty of everyday things, who love looking at blue sky between green leaves, who can reach past the cacophony that surrounds us to feel the harmonies that give life its beauty. I like to meet those who have the sense of humor to recognize brilliance in the mundane and ordinary. I would like to meet someone for whom the feeling of epiphany is familiar...Please feel free to ask me anything you would like to know more about me as i would be very pleased to share it with you..

Also, they will give you a UK number which is a forwarded phone number. but the longer you chat with them, you will find out the tricky contents which are not consistent.. most of the scammers claim that they are contractors who win contracts and need cash. most of the scammers claim that they are engineers, geologists or from some very male-dominant industry.

  104. My scammer used all of the above wife died in child birth , had a child in uk celebrating a birthday and because he had all his millions tied up in a gold business deal couldn't afford a birthday party for her, "she" contacted me also calling me mummy, and of couse the sick grand"mummy". Like always when it sounds to good to be true it is. He was at a reputable dating site that I've never experienced any problems with before. He was a smooth talker, luckily not smooth enough for me to send him money.

Claims to be from the US has to go to the UK on business, wins the contract that is in Ghana, goes with his 10 year old son Dennis, then it all starts, something will happen, we me it was a car accident, the "attorney" Henry Greg did all the bidding asking for money for this and that. They are all in Accra Ghana, there are multiple people involved, women too (one claims to be the doctor)multiple cell phone numbers. Beware, they are big time scammers

  109. Beware of Daniel Thompson and Henry Waters. I had been corresponding with Daniel first but then one email he signed Henry. I questioned him and he said it was one of his names. He alos said he had a 10 yr old daughter and she was excited to meet me. Thank God I'm smarter than he was and realized it was probably a scam. Once I realized it and told him I wasnt interested in contiuing the chatting and emailing, the very nest day on Facebook (which is where the Daniel guy found me he said) a person named Henry Waters contacted me and he looked just like a model. Fortunately, I never sent any money and he hadnt even gotten around to asking me that although he said he was very rich and wanted a women who would ride in his limo or take the bus if it broke down. LOL. He said he grew up in Indiana and lived in Washington State and was int he UK buying art, he said he was an international art dealer as well as the CEO of his fathers road construction business. Unfortuneatly before I realized it could be a scam I gave him my phone number and when I sent the email saying I didnt want to continue the per say relationship, he called me like 6 times in one night. The first 3 numbers were 234. I did a search for international country codes it came up in Nigeria. He finally left a message ont eh last call and his English was so broken I could barely understand him. One thing he said was Him and his daughter Kelly would move to where I live. I knew then it was a scam because he didnt sound at all like he ever lived in the US.

Simple, be careful there are plenty of scammers on this site, yes2day one said he was from georgia DC, Atlanta Georgia yes but the other is a made up city for a Nigerian Scam Artist. how do i know because one tried to get money from me. Thomas Wale or Wale2010 don't come off the site with these guys and wait for them to fall in love after 2 wks. they r DANGEROUS and somewhat agressive in getting wat they want. the only reason he didn't get anything from me was because i asked too many questions but be warned they will turn on a dime when u question them. They won't stop. The one good thing is however he had to have spent a small fortune in telephoning and sitting a cyber cafe waiting for me to pay-off too bad for him i didn't. Beware, when someone starts to ask u when u get paid shut down communication, when u hear the words Western Union and a sad story shutdown communication

  114. I've been scammed by a John Hawkins jive.hawkins@yahoo.com he told me he was working in Nigeria but had a house in Leicester (UK) which he was selling and a daughter in Canada. Claimed to be building log cabins running his own business. Yes, I fell in love with him and he with me or so I thought and I sent him money but then when he was trying to leave the country to come to me he was stopped by the authorities and held for non payment of taxes. Yes I sent more money becuse he lost or had stolen his bank cards. He got a solicitor a Michael Peterson who said I needed to send funds to get John out of the country and of course I did. My friends and family have told me I am crazy, but I did so believe I loved him and he me, now I feel so foolish. I hadn't heard from him for days and then he contacted me to say he had been held in prison for five days and couldn't contact me. I realise now that I have been conned and I feel so foolish, but even now I cling to the slightest hope that this has all been a dream and he really will come to me. I never thought I would be so foolish as to get caught in this way, but I guess I'm not as clever as I thought I was.

I feel so Overwhelmed writing to an Effulgent creature of God's Glory radiating Gorgeously in heavenly beauty, the thought of you provokes instant smile in my heart,it gives memories that would stay in me,not for a short while but a life time. Perhaps I'm not here to flatter you,i have a Goal that I'm looking forward to achieve. But let me Quickly say this,Serving God with smile in our face is the best thing we can do to ourselves. Well i should tell a few things about myself...I'm single and looking for a loving an caring lady who must be God fearing.I'm Level headed with great sense of Humor and God fearing.I'm not the best in the world but the last time i checked on myself,I'm nice..Lol.

I'm a man of Noble Orientation,Classical Charisma,Polished Countenance whose bossy mass within is Loaded with certain skills and competencies. Obviously,I;m a serious Radical with Flexible Anthropocentric Principles, well built anatomically in terms of intellectual expressively,I'm a Pure Breed of God whose word delivers kindness, hope and an Unquenchable love.

My Best Scripture is Psalm 103:2 that goes thus"Bless the Lord,O'MY Soul and forget not all His Benefits". Its quite Unfortunate that lot of people lives as a complete strangers to themselves.we should be careful of those who stand aloof to greet each venture with reproofs.I like people with an inbuilt drive or mechanism to be successful, resourceful and result oriented. people with an identity, inner courage and strength. Also,i detest liars,i do not entertain such a person in my space.Life is Ephemeral and lots only worth living when one is with right person at the right time and in the right place. A lot of people abuse love and Relationships due to lack of wisdom, attachment behavior towards custom, tradition and Racism, True love don't I'e,it knows no Boundary, its like a seed that Germinates and once it is planted,it extends it branches beyond a limit of attachment behavior towards racism,Custom and tradition.Though its hard to find.Remember God gave us his Only Begotten son.

I Admire a lady that is Excellently saturated with heavenly beauty when she does no evil, takes responsibilities, safelytrusted, liberal.stretches her hand to the poor, reaches hands to the needy, enterprising, hard working, not a Goal-getter,opens her mouth in wisdom and her tongue is the laws of Kindness"Proverb 31:26,Fears the lord".proverb 31:30,posses antenna to detect stops and an inbuilt divine Di valency to checkmate it,makes her husband feel so special for having her. This strengthens him not to give up in the day of Adversary, come rain come sunshine.

My instinct tells me you are excellently saturated, you wroth Celebrating, caring for and he that fine you finds a Good treasure that worth's dieing for.The Thought of you paints a smile that is Resistant to changes in my heart.i wouldn't mind what it would cost me to know you better and create a right relationship with you as though i do not know your present status. I will be looking forward to read your warmth response soonest.

    Best Regards,

    Subject: JUST ME!!!

I don't know where these feelings are coming from. I am never like this and I never let myself get attached to someone so quickly especially when I have never met them. The tears just started rolling down my face like I had lost my best friend. The words you say to me just make my heart melt and smile at the same time. Like I told you I let my guard down sooner than I thought would be possible. I do not want get hurt again or be cheated on. You have to promise me that. I never really speak of this but my dad was verbally and physically abusive toward my mom and I can remember being about 8 yrs old and watching my dad pull my mom by her hair across the yard and seeing my mom come home with a black eye,It's awful and i never can do that to any woman and this are the way most women are treated by we men I still have bad thoughts about those days. It took me a long time to forgive my dad for his actions but I have forgiven him. I also went through a bad experience when my ex abandon me and my son. So I have had some really shitty(excuse my language) experiences in my life and only pray and hope I never have to experience anything like that ever again. Mostly for my son,has never been exposed to abuse and hope he will never have to see it or have it happen to him. He is the best thing that God has given me. I am so blessed that he chosen me to care for him in this life. He has made me the person I am today. So with that being said I hope you realize and understand that I am a very sensitive person and if I do let my guard up now and then you know why. I do not want to put myself in any type of situation where I would get hurt and not be able to trust.

    Sending hugs and kisses XOXOXO!!!

  130. Hi everyone,

    alvin_raymond53@yahoo.com
his match id was cutesmiles53 (it listed his location as colorado springs, colorado)

He said he is a civil engineer, living in the UK (says Birmingham then says Liverpool), was born in Ontario, Canada (no specific place), has a 12 year old daughter Jenny, his wife died a couple of years ago from an accident (no specifics), his daughter lives in Barcelona, Spain with his parents because he did not want her to be uprooted. He says he is currently in Benin City, Nigeria working on road construction. We have been corresponding since the beginning of November, 2010. He sounds too good to be true and googling his name turns up nothing that is remotely related to the information he has given me. He has not asked me for any money but has given me a couple of supposed cell phone numbers from Nigeria and I have called a few times. Most times he doesn't even answer. He has called me a few times on them. I told him a few days ago that I read about these UK civil engineers working in Nigeria scammers and haven't heard from him since. Anyone else heard of him using these ID's? The match account under that name has been closed, the yahoo account is apparently still active but was only activated on November 6, 2010. He has sent me photos (supposedly of himself and some of his daughter).

I am assuming he is a scammer. Has anyone else heard of this guy?

  136. I was contacted via Facbook by a certain Mr. Jerry Frigs. Beautiful looking "model" type engineer working in Nigeria on contract for the last three years, supposedly finishing in June 2011. He told me he was a widower living there with his daughter of 14 years old. We eventually exchanged phone numbers and he phoned me. On his Facebook page he stated that he was originally from the UK, and is desperately looking for a long term relationship and a mother for his daughter. During the fourth phone call to me he put his "daughter" on the line, who immediately asked me if I was going to be her next "mommy". This made me immediately suspicious, but nevertheless I decided to carry on the "chatting" to see where it was going to lead. A week before his "so-called" daughter's birthday he phoned me franctically, requesting I buy a phone for her birthday and send it via Courier. My reply was that new phones cannot be sent via courier due to new airline legislation since 31 December 2010, which states that Lithium Batteries are not allowed in Cargo, which affects all courier companies, as courier parcels get sent via Cargo. Then, two days later, I received another phone call requesting money for his daughter's birthday party on 30 January, as only gets an allowance from his company until the end of the contract, being June 2011. He played on my emotions and even got his daughter to phone me, crying because she would not be able to have a birthday party ! PLEASE LOOK OUT FOR THIS GUY! THE PHONE NUMBER HE USED WAS +23480 3884 2794 MR JERRY FRIGS

  137. Just want to inform people of a two different scams they are using in Nigeria. The first is BTA or Basic Traveling Allowance. They state they need money for this to get out of the country. And will ask you to send cash to help them since they never seem to have US dollars but are some way able to survive in Nigeria. It is completely false...Do not fall for it. I talked to US customs and they said there is no such thing. They will not hold anyone unless they do not have a valid passport. The second it the use of credit cards. What they say they need to be paid by someone they are doing business with and to help you out since they are in love with you and want to help you. The money is put on your credit card. They will maybe ask you after the transaction to take a cash advance and send them money or deposit into an US account. It's called account take over. The hackers look for credit cards with little or no money on them and hack in and move the money to your credit card.. Most people don't check their statements often, so the can move the money quickly. Don't fall for this because you will be responsible for the money because you did it in your name and you will have to pay back the money. The person who tells you they have undying love for you tells you the money is from a legit business. But it's not and you call them on it they suppposedly call the company and either the person has been fired because of this or they are out of the country... Please be careful. Remember if it is to good to be true it is!!!

  144. I just recently found this web site and glad I did. I had gotten a message on facebook from Carl Brandon. Giving me the same story that he was in Lagos Nigeria as a Project Manager for a construction company. Same story. His wife died of breast cancer and has one child, a daughter. Now he's begging for money from me to save a girls life in Africa. Thanks to this website I didn't give a damn thing. I knew all along that this guy is full of you know what but I wanted to string him along and see how long it would take for him to ask for money. I'm so glad this information is out there so we can shut down those damn nigerians from stealing our money. It makes me angry.

  145. I met a Paul Jenkins on Perfect Match. He may be perfectly legit, but as soon as I started chatting via messenger he removed his profile and then mentioned that he is a widower whose wife died in childbirth. How coincidental is it that just two weeks ago I was lured into chatting online with another guy who had also lost a wife in childbirth. In both cases their daughters were being raised by someone else. They didn't exactly sound like the family guy I am looking for.

I asked him about these scams, haven't heard from him since 3 days. I asked if he was a part of these scams no response. Said he wanted to live in Idaho with me, but first wanted to make sure staff was taken care of before he began his move.

  148. I just came across the website and sincerely speaking, I am dumbfounded by the stories I have read so far. first of all ladies, any Nigerian man that has donald culkin,Jerry Frigs or david brown as a name should be a red flag right there. only a handful of Nigerians use foreign last names. and if it sounds too American pls run.A real African man takes care of his woman no matter where they r or how many.they don't ask for money. so if a man comes to you and tells you to send them some money because they are widowers thats another warning right there. it breaks my heart when people genuinely searching for love gets duped by ingrates.please ladies don't let those good for nothing men get your money for nothing.the amazing thing is that most of them are teenagers or mid twenties playing pranks. don't send them money!!!! thats all they want. if a man truly is seeking for love let him prove himself to you and not you proving urself to him. oh! and them giving you there cell phone numbers, you can buy a Sim card as cheap as 4 usd. and its all prepaid and tossed when they are done with you. pray for guidance when seeking for love cos there are a lot of wolfs in sheep clothings this days hiding their faces behind a computer screen. sorry for ur loss ladies and please be very careful whom you trust.

Found the pictures on an international modeling site FocusHawaii. He sent me love letters and text messages and was online 24/7. Said he lost his parents and wife cheated on him and left him for his best friend. He asked me to send him money to buy his daughter some birthday presents because all his money was tied up in business deals. 153. In reference to Willard Stjuste post on 1/8/11 and 2/9/11
I too met Willard Stjuste only this time it was on Chemistry.com way back in Oct 2010. Same MO…widower, engineer (rigs and over-water bridges were his specialty), 15 yr old daughter, has mother living with him, live-in nanny taking care of them while working in London, same phone numbers, mom German, dad from USA, (originally Ohio) and then Texarcana, Texas, passed away from lung cancer when Willard was 15, lived all over the world where dad was a business man (selling used German cars), graduated in Germany (Munich area) and moved to Texarcana, Texas after his dad died and clearance paperwork done to move to USA. He supposedly lived in Texarcana, Texas until last Aug 2010 when he, mom and daughter moved to Tolleson, Arizona. He even sent me pictures early on of his mom and dad. His dad (if it really was his mom and dad) was wearing a Marine uniform on his wedding day, that was how he “got” me, my dad was in the Marine Corps too. I have a lot of other details, including a picture of his “passport”. We corresponded for over 6 months, I have kept every email and chat. He gave me the sad story of needing money and yes I sent him some and I now know it was a scam and will never get any of it back.Hard lesson to learn; unfortunately I believe in helping people in need. I will say he was good, he had his details down and I had googled his name many times and never found anything, unfortunately I didn’t continue googling throughout the whole time of correspondence. I stopped after 3 months of knowing him. We are no longer corresponding and I just want to warn everyone out there that he is a scammer!! Please do not believe anything he says, and believe me he is good! If I had just found this website with the warnings earlier… I’m thankful for the previous blogs, even if they were too late for me…hopefully it’s not too late for others because I have a sinking feeling he has moved on to someone else. His email address is sunshinewill58@yahoo.com and phone numbers are 314-269-1804; +447700076736; and 760-705-8888. He gave me his address in Tolleson as 8341 W. Payson Rd, Tolleson, AZ; was never able to verify it, even though I tried, was always going to “drop in” but kept putting it off. He said he had just purchased the home and didn’t get a chance to finish all the paperwork for it to be recorded before he had to leave to London to do a job. He gave just enough info to make it real but not enough to concretely verify. He did give me ticket and confirmation numbers from airline companies and they all checked out when checking reservations on the airline web sites. I also have much more information that he gave me to make it real, if anyone else sees this blog and wants more information just reply to this and I will check periodically and help anyone who needs more information on Willard Stjuste. Please be careful and be safe and hope this helps others! Here’s a quote from one of his emails: I have a daughter, and want the best for her...i would never want anyone to hurt her...and so i try my best to be 100% honest and know that if i do good, i'll always get it back..

  155. a continuation of my previous comment posted on June 8th 2011, I forgot to include the e-mail address of saltnpepper90@yahoo.com, photo is of handsome man, claiming to be Italian. widower, wife dies in child birth, daughter lives with grandmother in Italy. But initially fooled me by Atlanta, Ga area code showing up on my caller id, but when I would call the number it would go to a MAGICJACK voicemail. I called MagicJack to verify the phone number, and they claim it wasn't theres. I did the reverse phone lookup, haven't paid, but shows a GA communication company. WOW-they are getting more sophisticated. he also spoke with me for a long time the first time I refused to send money. He detected my anger on the IM. I used the reverse IP address website to verify his location. When he told me he was in Atlanta, GA, I used the e-mail he sent me on that date, and the reverse IP address locater pulled up the message came from West Africa, not Atlanta as he had told me. But the scary thing is, he had a lot of local knowledge. I tried several times to trip him. The voice was a dead giveaway. It seemed more Caribbean/Africa, not at all Italiano.....

Luckily I didn't fall for it, and when I told him his accent sounded black (I called him once) he denied it.. and he did all that stuff about flattering you and that the kids need a mom (i.e me!)

  162. Ok, I actually took my sweet time to read every single article here, and it was no child's play. 419 is quite prevalent in Nigeria, hell, they even scam fellow Nigerians successfully, how much more people that live a normal, unsuspecting lives, ignorant of its existence.

I am Nigerian, very unlucky in love, so decided to try the online dating. I joined Afrointroductions in May, 2005, met a few people, had my fair share of online heart-breaks, unfairly got rejected a few times by people I totally liked and wanted to meet, just ‘cos I’m Nigerian; automatically a scammer. Needless to say I was devastated to be judged and condemned unfairly. So I edited my profile, told Casanovas to keep well away from me, ie if u don’t share my same goals…also said something like “I know I’m Nigerian and therefore, condemned without a chance, but lemme make this clear, I’m not interested in ur golden eggs, I’m a goose that lays plain boring eggs, but guess what, I’m perfectly happy with those plain eggs….I intend NEVER to ask anyone for money and when the time comes for me to relocate and join u, I’ll pay my way without any contributions from u”.

Met and have been married to this great American for 5yrs now and we’re so perfect for each other, totally and blissfully happy. He looked beyond my no-picture profile and my being a Nigerian, he saved my profile “about me” and said he’d use my words against me if I ever ask him for money, I never did, even told him not to bring a dime with him when coming to marry me here, I paid for everything. Of course now we’re married and he takes good care of me.

    While chatting online, a few things are absolutely necessary; for us Nigerians (or anyone that has any affiliation to Nigeria; working or visiting), the onus is heavier on us. If u’re genuine and wish to prove urself;

    1) NEVER ask for money. I know there might be some very genuine people that unfortunately, truly need the money and who best to help than the person u’ve met and truly wish to spend the rest of ur life with.
    2) Do whatever it takes to quell any doubts. We’re notorious for scamming, so sending pictures isn’t adequate, do a lot more, webcam is an option.
    3) Be urself. I love online dating for one simple reason; it gives u the chance to know someone totally, from inside outwards cos all u have going for u is that communication, I used to chat with my hubby DAILY for 15 months b4 he came for me, that way, we knew EVERYTHING there was to know about each other. Part of the test was calling up very old chats to see how consistent my stories were, needless to say I passed them all with flying colors (only cos I’m 100% genuine).

My reason for writing? I wish to use this forum to let every woman (and man) out there know that true love and happiness can actually be found online, I’m a living testimony to that. Every delay/disappointment in my life only led me right to my destiny; into my soul mate’s arms. Granted, 4 out of every 10 profiles are professional, heartless scammers that don’t care who they ruin, thereby spoiling our chances. Just know the rules of online dating and play by them, don’t ever assume urself to be “too smart to be scammed”, believe me, u’re not, its like they have a school they attend to get more sophisticated. There’s a Nigerian saying “when a bird learns to fly without perching, the hunter learns to shoot without missing”. Therefore, when people get wise to their ways, they acquire more sophistication. There’s also another saying “a stubborn fly goes into the grave with a corpse”, therefore, for those that think “it can never happen to me, I’m way too smart” and don’t bother with the rules, just get ready for whatever happens to u.

Good luck in ur quest for love, it’s truly out there, just pray and do everything by the book and soon, u too would experience the sort of blissful euphoria I’ve been living for the past 5yrs.

  164. Hi,
Anyone know of a Paul Jenkins (email id pauljenkins80@yahoo.com)?
Says he's an engineer, working as a contractor for Shell. Was on an oil rig in the North Sea, now in Manchester waiting to hear about a contract in oil spillage which, he says, will bring him to the Middle East, where I live.
He says he's a widower, wife killed in a car accident, one daughter living with her grandma in Texas. Says he owns a contracting company called PJ Ventures.
He's not tried asking for money yet, but I thought he didn't sound legit.
He contacted me on Guardian Soulmates, then took his profile off, which I found VERY odd. LOTS of discrepancies in what he says when we chat on Yahoo. He's dodged video chats. I've just told him I'm not interested.

  166. Had an experience very similar to the one posted on December 28th about Alvin Raymond only "my guy" was Alex Laurent. Stories are the same with different names, his daughter was Elizabeth and he wanted me to be her new mother once he returned from Benin from his Civil Engineering job. He asked me to buy him a very expensive GPS ~$700 and I led him on and told him I would. During the next couple of days I had the opportunity to hear of some other dating scams after mentioning this guy to a friend. When I researched him online I found too many similar stories. When "Alex Laurent" called me again I told him I would report him to the authories if he continued with this dating scam. I never heard from him again. We were three weeks into the Yahoo Messenger when he asked me to purchase the GPS for him. Good riddance and no more dating sites for me. I'd rather grow old alone than to be scammed by some jerk.

Moved to the states in 95, south Fl I think, married and then divorced in 2006 when wife was having affair with best friend. His parents who died in a plane crash left him a company in Nigeria. The manager ran off with the money and "James" and his 11 y/o daughter Kelly had to sell home in Fl and move to Nigeria to pay off debt. I have been communicating with him about 3 weeks and I think he was getting ready to ask for money. He was always very flattering during our chats and he totally fits the profile. I cannot believe I fell for that nonsense. Last night he wanted me to declare my love for him...not likely. I started looking around on line and found out about this type of scam. I had never heard of it! I emailed him my last email telling him that I suspected him of scamming and to please not contact me. He has tried calling 4 times today and sent texts but no answer from me. I was totally jazzed by his pic and profile on match. Too bad it turned out to be a scam....live and learn! His email is jamesfranco0959@yahoo.com. He is staying in nigeria until he gets a "contract" to pay off the debt. At that time he was going to invest in crude oil or some ridiculous thing and then come back to florida. He spends his day doing "paperworks". The grammer is horrible and the couple of times I spoke with him I could hardly understand. Not much of an English accent but his answer to that was he spent a lot of time with his Indian mother. Proclaims to be very religious and goes to church every Sun. Ladies beware....

Robert_r505@yahoo.com and also brittanycollin74@yahoo.com. The one that goes by Robert Rogin is very clever and nice and pretends he is italian also.
They both use photos of a dad with two girls Amanda and Ameila, the other guy (he so dumb he uses a girls name himself) calls the girls Nicole and Mable. He is not a nice person.
One of the photos is at a table with a gingerbread house, one is with him and the girls with a lama, one at a Christmas race and one standing outside in shorts with a gap tee shirt and the girls. Robert Rogin said he lived in NJ.
I saw the name Robert Rogin and also Robert R. Antonia on facebook. I contacted and spoke with the girl that was a friend and found out she thought he was fake also. He was from Match.com and she found him from interracialmatch.com.
After two months I discovered his true identy. He is just a 30 year old Nigerian.
The Robert Rogin had me fooled at first but then I caught on and went along to just find out more information. What a waste of time and heartache.

Ex-wife living in Ohio; she cheated on him. Two kids... first he told me girl 5 and boy 15. I asked about the age difference, and he then said he'd been kidding, that really he had a girl, Yvonne 21, and boy, Jeff 18. He wrote like someone whose first language is not English. He sent very romantic emails... but this line " Do you know her?" they asked me in jealous whispers, and as you smiled at me I simply answered with the truth, "Better than I know myself." seemed familiar... so I googled it... and lo and behold, at least half a dozen other people posted the same "dream" their scammer had written to them, verbatim. Same MO. Paul was in London, selling a solar something or other... then flew to Ghana for same job. It didn't get far enough for him to ask me for money, though! Idiots.

  178. Some more info about Paul Herbert: He said his dad was of Irish descent, but he (his dad) was born and raised in Serbia and fought in a war there on Serbia's side. He then married an Irish woman and moved to Dublin, where Paul was born. His mother died during childbirth. His Dad moved the two of them to the US and eventually married a woman named "Karen" here. (That's how he found my account on Facebook...looking for his step-mother with the same first name.) His dad died 7 years ago in a car accident. His dad was his hero. Blah, blah, blah.

I knew it was too good to be true... I couldn't find him online when I did a search. I couldn't find his two kids on Facebook....for their ages, that seemed incredible odd to me. He had only two friends on his FB account, and neither were family. And almost immediately, those two friends were no longer showing up.

I hope now his name shows up on Google searches. I know, though, it'll just be a different name next time.

  179. One other bit about Paul Herbert. He uses the email paulherbert1960@rocketmail.com. He is also on Skype and Windows Live Messenger under that address. The number that showed up when he texted me was 01144 759 965 0144. When I looked up "area code 759" on Google, it said it's not an area code.

  186. No, have not heard of him, but if he has any problem (like getting in an accident or mugged on the way) or not enough money to get there, then this is most certainly a scammer, which he already sounds like he is.

  188. I was contacted by a con artist on Match.com. Profile cuteloneyromano@talk.com; email adress:
    daniel.romano68@yahoo.com; phone #447024065552

My experience was very similar to the stories on this site: He first emailed me on Match. Then asked that we move it to regular email because he was going to Scottland on business. The emails went on for a few weeks. The emails were definately eleoquent, articulate, loving, romantic and amazing. But of course as they say, too good to be true! He did send me flowers, 3 dozens to be exact. He told me was flying to CA to visit and he wanted me to raise he daughter since he was a window of a 5 year little girl. He sent me pictures. The guy in the picture was very good looking and the little girl was adorable. I believe these pictures were stolen from somewhere. He claimed to be working on an oil rig in Scottland. His dead give away was his accent. He was claiming to be Italian and Scottish. Having traveled to both countries, by no means did he have the accent from these countries. Then he asked me for money, as there was an accident on the oil rig and he was fined. And the sooner he paid the fine the sooner he could travel to CA. He was asking for ($2,000). I of course did not send him any money and I stopped all communication with him. Please beware of the guy, the emails are very endearing and please don't be a victim.

  189. I was contacted on Skype and Yahoo, by what I believe is a scammer, goes by name Greg Daniels says he is a chemical engineer from Manchester, has 20 yr old son in Med School in Manchester. He is presently working on oil rig off coast of Africa. Said his BD was March 27, 1960 and that he goes on leave soon, What instantly made be wary, was being contacted on Skype as my profile is not public, also his English and grammar is poor. Just a heads - don't be a victim.

  190. Has anyone heard of Kelvin Richardson, from the UK, works as a construction Engineer and recently sent to Lagos, Nigera to work for 6mths. He is a widower, has a 12 yr old daughter. He lost his son and wife in a car accident 2 yrs ago. Birthday is June 10th, 1961. Brown hair, blue eyes, 6ft tall. Very charming and says what you want to hear. Last week he tells me he was mugged in Nigeria and is in the hospital. He needs money to help pay his hospital bill. NO I did not send any nor will I ever. After being reluctant he finally gave me the name of the hospital he is in. I truly thought he was the man of my dreams. As I read on other comments, after 2mths he vowed to move to the US and start a life together and wants me to be his wife. He also called me several times....please let me know if you were scammed by him. I am pretty sure he is a scammer but I still also want to believe there are those who are telling the truth. I will never send money his way but am trying to get more out of him. Oh his daughter is 13 and her name is Stephanie.....thanks for all the comments....the story is so familiar.....

  191. I met a man on bbwpersonalsplus.com. He acted jsut like you all describe. Sent me a beautiful introduction email, said his wife died, has a 12 year old daughter. We spoke on yahoo messenger for about 10 days. I saw him on webcam and the pictures matched. When I pressed him to call, he was suddenly off to London on business. The next day he told me he was robbed and cannot access his money because it's in a safe in his house or in an international bank. He claims to be a British-Jamaican. I sent him $400 and now he's asking me for $2,800 to fly home. I did not send and cut him off. What tipped me off was his accent and that he called from country code 234 which is Nigeria. I'm heartbroken. Be careful out there.

  192. Occurs to me that some of these dating sites may be owned and operated Nigerian scammers. I mean if you want to sell shoes you set up a shoeshop right? Neighbor of mine was recently scammed for $600, I'm in the midst of trying to convince her it is a scam, it isn't working. Fellow named Bryan Williams really did a number on her.

  193. I can't believe these people are still trying to scam everyone from their hard earned money. People need to be aware this is still occurring. Thanks for your great insight and keep up the good work!
